The Allocation Committee evaluates the grant applications from all applying nonprofits and collectively decides where donor dollars go.
January: All committee members will meet at the Berwick Area United Way office for a training on funding priorities and online application process (e-C Impact). After this meeting everyone will know how to login, read and rate the applications.
February: All applications will be due February 3rd. The committee is expected to read applications at home, take notes and develop a list of questions to ask the agencies at the Agency Interviews.
March: Agency Interviews will happen all in one day in March. Each agency will have 20 minutes to review their application and answer any questions the committee may have.
April: We will meet to review applications together at the beginning of April. The committee will make suggestions as to appropriate funding levels. These recommendations will go to our Advisory Council for review and then to the Board of Directors for final approval.
All members must disclose any conflicts of interest, make a commitment to attend all the Allocation Committee meetings and conversations must be confidential.
