Berwick Area United Way is committed to strengthening financial stability across our community. By offering practical programs like VITA, we help residents access earned refunds and tax credits, reduce the cost of essential services, and connect families with resources that support long‑term economic well‑being. Our focus is on measurable, lasting impact—helping hardworking households keep more of what they earn and build pathways to greater financial security. 

Berwick Area United Way’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free preparation of federal and state income tax returns for individuals and families with limited incomes. Trained volunteers have completed 1,504 tax returns were filed, returning $1,852,284 to area residents while saving families $264,704 in tax preparation fees.  Appointments for the 2026 tax year began in January 2027; please check back for updated scheduling and location information.
